MEET THE SISTERS
June, the middle sister, wrote the story of All in a Day with Daisy. As she learned more about dolphins on a boat tour in Florida, she was impressed with the way they moved through the water and their playful nature. After much prayer, combining a dolphin with a fun children’s game of Hide and Seek came together as the storyline for this book.
June lives in Lancaster County, PA, with her husband of 43 years. They are blessed with a wonderful family of 2 sons, 2 daughters-in-law, and seven grandchildren, whom she fondly refers to as her “grand” blessings. She loves spending time with each one. June works part-time for a non-profit ministry and is active in her local church. She enjoys reading, flower gardening, and long walks, all when time permits. Family time is the best and includes trips to the mountains and beach each year.
A highlight for June came last year when she was able to visit Discovery Cove in Florida and
swim with a dolphin, Catalina!

Judy Smoker, Illustrator
Judy is the oldest of the three sisters. She has loved drawing, painting, and calligraphy since she was little. She had always felt there was a purpose for her painting, but was never sure what it was. After the idea of publishing a children's book came about, she knew she had found her purpose! She really loved painting each picture of Daisy and her friends in all of their surroundings.
Judy and her husband of 46 years live in Lancaster County, PA. She loves the beauty and wonder of nature. Being recently retired has allowed her more time to explore her painting, mostly in watercolors. She loves spending time with her family. She and her husband have two sons, both of them married, and they have gained two wonderful "daughters"-in-law. Her absolute joy is their precious five grandchildren. Being a part of their learning, growing, and changing has been so richly rewarding. Judy also enjoys the beach, the mountains, reading, flowers, tea parties, and spending time with friends.

THE STORY BEHIND THE BOOK
This book was written, illustrated, and designed by 3 sisters who wanted to honor their mother’s legacy. In 2023, a year after our mother passed, we took a trip to Florida, where the conversation started. As we remembered our mother, there were two things that stood out. She always encouraged us to use our talents for God’s glory, and she would often ask people she met if they knew Jesus. The idea that started that weekend grew into the three of us combining our talents to publish a children’s book, All in a Day with Daisy, that points all who read it to Jesus!
June wrote the story based on a dolphin and a favorite childhood game her grandchildren love to play. Judy used her artistic abilities to illustrate the book, and Rhonda used her design expertise to lay out the book and prepare it for printing.
THE MEANING BEHIND
"RADIANT STAR" BOOKS
When it came to choosing a name that we would use to market our book, it was not a hard decision. Since our entire project was to point people to Jesus and honor our mother, we chose a name based on an experience our mother had during her illness. On one particular night, she saw a very radiant star shining brighter than all the other stars. She believed this star was a vision sent to her proclaiming that Jesus is the light.
